A judge awards a long-term protective order to an Anchorage police officer against a long-time friend of missing man Tony Kronos
ANCHORAGE, Alaska - A judge has awarded a long-term protective order to Anchorage Police Officer Christopher Sternhagen against Catlin Mobley , a man Sternhagen says has been harassing and threatening him ever since the disappearance of Mobley’s long-time friend Tony Kronos .
After Kronos’ disappearance, police searched Sternhagen’s home but have refused to say why, or what they may have found. They’ve released very little information on the case.Catlin Mobley has made no secret of the fact he believes Sternhagen is involved in Krono’s disappearance. In court Friday, Mobley told Judge Jonathan Stinson that he didn’t dispute the stalking allegations and that he wouldn’t contest the long-term protective order that bars him from contact with Sternhagen or his family for a year. But Mobley asked that he be able to continue his social media posts.MORE: $15K offered for info on missing Eagle River man Tony Kronos The judge agreed Mobley had a first amendment right to post his opinions on the case but warned Mobley he could not use threatening or harassing language or make any type of obvious or veiled threat. When the judge asked Sternhagen if he agreed with the provisions placed on social media in the protective order Sternhagen said he did. “No, your honor, I have no objection,” Sternhagen replied. “He can espouse whatever he wants to the world as far as his theories, that doesn’t bother me at all. It’s really just the threats of violence and attacking my family and attacking my business.”for information. An APD spokesperson said last week that the lines have not yielded any information that could help with the case, although it is still an active investigation. The spokesperson confirmed last week that Officer Christopher Sternhagen is still employed with APD. Friends of Tony Kronos say they’ll keep working to keep the case in the public eye.
