A local resident has claimed a $1 million top prize from a Texas Lottery scratch ticket game after buying the winning ticket at a neighborhood market .

SAN ANTONIO - The Texas Lottery said the winning ticket came from the scratch ticket game 200X The Cash and was purchased at Times Market, 1910 S. Hackberry St., in San Antonio. The claimant chose to remain anonymous.

The retailer may be eligible for a $10,000 bonus under the Texas Lottery’s Retailer Bonus Program for selling the prize-winning ticket, according to the Texas Lottery. The Texas Lottery said this was the second of four $1 million top prizes to be claimed in the game. The game offers more than $103 million in total prizes, and the overall odds of winning any prize are one in 3.88, including break-even prizes.

The Texas Lottery’s functions and activities are administered by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The Texas Lottery said that since the first ticket was sold in 1992, it has generated more than $42.6 billion in revenue for the state and distributed more than $97.5 billion in prizes. Since 1997, it has contributed more than $36.6 billion to the Foundation School Fund, which supports public education in Texas.

The Texas Lottery said certain revenues also benefit state programs including the Fund for Veterans’ Assistance. Since the first veterans-themed scratch ticket game launched in 2009, the agency said it has contributed more than $301.3 million for programs supporting Texas veterans. Players must be 18 or older to purchase a ticket or enter a promotional second-chance drawing, the Texas Lottery said.
