Select flavors of organic ice cream are being recalled because they may contain metal fragments.
- Several flavors of Straus Family Creamery ’s organic ice cream have been recalled because they may contain metal fragments. The impacted flavors include vanilla bean, strawberry, cookie dough, Dutch chocolate and mint chip.
They were sold in either pints or quarts. Only select products are being recalled. They have best buy dates that range from Dec. 23 to Dec. 30, which are located on the bottom of the ice cream containers. Further identifying information can be found on the Food and Drug Administration’sThe FDA says the ice cream was distributed to stores in 17 states and had been on shelves since May 4.
Those states are Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Washington and Wisconsin.
