A Springfield Township officer tracked and arrested a suspect through heavily wooded terrain after a reported break-in at a smoke shop Monday night.
SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A Springfield Township officer tracked and arrested a suspect through heavily wooded terrain after a reported break-in at a smoke shop Monday night.
According to police, the suspect was identified as Leon K. Williams, 42, of Oxford Circle in the village of Lakemore. Officers were dispatched at approximately 10:17 p.m. to Full of Smoke Shop at 850 Canton Road for a reported breaking and entering. Officer McLean observed a male suspect running down a ravine behind the business plaza when he arrived. McLean followed Williams into a heavily wooded area behind the smoke shop that extends behind a church on Shadybrook Road.
McLean later located Williams behind a residence on Shadybrook, where he was taken into custody, police said. He was transported to the Summit County Jail.
