The Sylvester Stallone film popularized the concept of an extremely adept military man facing off against an entire town of cops. To Rebel Ridge’s credit, this idea is more topical now than it was then.
The cops in this town are wrapped up in a conspiracy that Terry threatens to unravel. This is a protagonist who fans can get behind because of the themes of corruption and truth winning out in the end.
