Both are charged with promoting prostitution and soliciting.
TOLEDO , Ohio - Two women are facing charges after a suspected brothel bust this week. Lizzhen Feng , 46, of Toledo , and Na Shu , 40, of Edison New Jersey, were taken into custody and an undisclosed location police say was operating as a brothel.
In court on Tuesday, bail was set at $10,000 for both, with their cases continued to May 20. One business neighbor who did not want to go on camera said they have seen SWAT teams enter that building about four different times in the past six years. They added these SWAT teams also seem to hit multiple locations as part of a sting.
Many other neighboring businesses said they had no clue there was an alleged brothel less than 500 feet away. At 3443 Secor Road, an empty white building has been the center of multiple prostitution stings since late 2022. Y-G Therapy took over the building by 2023 and became one of four arrest locations for a prostitution sting at massage parlors throughout Toledo.
“To say shock is an understatement,” said Jacks Henzler, assistant manager at Barry Bagels. Business neighbors who did not want to speak on camera said each suspected brothel there has gone under the guise of a massage parlor.
“If it’s a constant brothel, then people should really be looking into their investors and their buyers,” Henzler said. Henzler is the assistant manager of Barry Bagels just across the street from the suspected brothel. Many of her employees are teenagers, prompting concern.
“What if one of the kids decides, oh, hey, I need to go to the ATM because I need to go to the store after work and I have to go get money? What happens? Is somebody going to approach them? Is somebody going to try to offer them something?
” Henzler said. With Tuesday’s charges being made, Henzler said a conversation with her employees about this is needed.
“If you guys see something, say something to your manager, because at least that way I’m informed and I can go about the proper channels or whoever is the manager on duty at a point in time, they can be like, okay, do I call non-emergency? Do I call emergency? ” Henzler said.
