A long-running horror series has managed to make another successful sequel, despite cast changes, controversies, and industry noise. In fact, the movie has managed to break records, becoming the highest-grossing entry in the franchise and pushing the entire series past the billion dollar mark.

And this enduring horror series is the perfect example of that, because despite cast changes, controversial shake-ups, pay disputes and a lot of noise on the outside, one of 2026’s biggest horror hits has made its way home. Scream 7 is now available to stream on Paramount+, giving fans another chance to watch Sidney Prescott face the horrors of her past, because it's not like she's been through enough, is it?
The film was released in theaters on February 27, 2026, and it did exactly what Paramount needed it to do. The film opened to a franchise-best $64 million domestically and $97.2 million globally, and that momentum carried the movie past the $200 million mark worldwide, making it the highest-grossing entry in the franchise.
