Police investigated a man seen unconscious in the driver’s seat of his parked car at a BP station at 2:42 p.m. Jan. 20. The man was found to be intoxicated and was in possession of “many open containers of alcohol,” according to reports, adding the vehicle was running and the man was in possession of the car key.
Officers called for Brunswick Fire Department units due to the man’s extreme intoxication. Police were unable to perform field sobriety tests and the man was taken to the hospital for treatment. He was cited for physical control and open container.Police arrested two Akron men at 2:45 p.m. July 20 following a theft report. The suspects were located in the store parking lot following the report and both had multiple warrants for various offenses out of area agencies, reports said.. One of the men was also found in possession of hypodermic needles and was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments, and both were taken to the Medina County Jail for theft.Police stopped a driver at 4:50 a.m. Jan. 17 and found one of the occupants, a Parma woman, had a warrant out of the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office. Open containers of alcohol, suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia were found inside the vehicle during the stop. The woman was cited for open container and taken to the Medina County Jail on her warrant. The other occupant, a Brunswick man, was released with citations for drug paraphernalia and open container. Additional drug possession charges were pending for both at the time of the report.Police responded to a dog bite complaint at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 18. The victim said his neighbor’s dog came onto his property and bit his hand, causing injuries. The victim requested a report for documentation purposes only and the dog’s owner was advised of the incident.Police responded to a disturbance at an apartment complex at 12:30 p.m. Jan. 20. A resident reported her neighbor shouted threats and obscenities toward her in front of the apartment complex. The incident was reportedly witnessed by other neighbors.
