On Jan. 26, a caller reported a vehicle was swerving and suspected the driver was impaired. Officers located the vehicle and observed multiple traffic violations, initiating a stop at Canterbury and Wolf roads.

The driver refused to exit the vehicle and became non-compliant. Officers assisted the driver out of the vehicle. He refused field sobriety testing and resisted arrest. The man was transported to jail and was charged with OVI, OVI refusal, resisting arrest, OVI , driving a weaving course, and lanes of travel violations.Police attempted to stop a driver on Jan. 30. The driver refused to stop and vehicle continued into Rocky River. He entered the Normandy complex and was taken into custody. The driver was not the registered owner but had a suspended license and active warrants through Bay Village and Cleveland Heights. The 24-year-old Cleveland resident was booked into the Bay Village Jail and charged with failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, driving under suspension and expired registration.On Jan. 26 around 12:30 am, a resident reported a suspicious vehicle in a neighbor’s driveway. Officers responded and spoke with the occupants. The driver, an Uber operator, said he had completed a ride and mistakenly drove into what he believed was a driveway, becoming stuck. The driver contacted a friend for assistance, who also drove into the front yard. Both vehicles were assisted out of the yard and left the area without further incident.Police and fire departments responded to a report of a man experiencing a seizure inside a vehicle on Jan. 26 around 6:30 am. First responders located the vehicle off the roadway. The man was transported to the hospital.Police responded to a report of two people walking on the frozen lake near Lake and Columbia roads on Jan. 27. Police responded and advised the juveniles about the dangers of being on the lake.On Jan. 27 at 7:20 pm, a resident contacted police after a juvenile approached him for help while he was clearing snow. The juvenile said he became lost after exiting an RTA bus at the wrong stop while traveling to a job interview. Due to extreme cold temperatures and a language barrier, the juvenile was transported to the station while arrangements were made. Cleveland Police assisted by meeting officers on West 117th Street to transport the juvenile home to the east side of Cleveland.On Jan. 28, a resident reported about 10 people were having a physical altercation in the front yard of a home at Lake Road near Dover Center. Police were advised two contractors had a fight over the alleged theft of marijuana. Both declined to pursue a police report. One of the contactors had an active warrant and was turned over to Brunswick Police.On Jan. 26, police stopped a driver who had felony warrants out of Cuyahoga County Sheriff Department. The woman was transported to the county jail.On Jan. 29, police stopped a driver, who had an active warrant through Garfield Heights Police. A probable cause search yielded contraband and a firearm. The 37-year-old Lorain resident was arrested and transported to jail, where she was held pending a court appearance. She was charged with possession of cocaine, driving under suspension, and drug paraphernalia.
