The update that went live on December 11 fixed the Bears >Gun >Wing Flex Offset Wk >Mtn PA Fk Screen Scissors play.That might sound like a small thing–and it is in the grand scheme of things–but if you play with the Bears like I do, having even one broken play in your arsenal feels limiting. I'm glad this one is getting fixed.What Did The December 11 Madden 26 Update Fix?Fixed an issue where defenders with KO abilities would trigger the ability, but no knockout would occur when landing a hit during a catch and a successful knockout was rolled. DEV NOTE: You may still see KO abilities light up on some break-on-ball animations without a knockout occurring. This is expected! KO abilities can light up when a defender makes a break on the ball, but a knockout still requires a successful knockout roll. With this update, whenever a KO roll is successful and contact is made during the catch, the ball will be knocked out regardless of tackle type.Nickel 24 Load Double Mug - Bucs Defensive PlaybookNickel Load Double Mug - Saints Defensive PlaybookFixed the automotion animation for the Wing TE in the Eagles >Singleback Deuce >Mtn Power O play. Addressed an issue preventing passes to the Tight End on the Steelers >Singleback >Bunch X Nasty >PA Sprint HB Flat play.The knockout ability fix is probably the most impactful change in this update. Before the patch, defenders with KO abilities would light up on contact during a catch, but the ball wouldn't come loose even when the knockout roll was successful. That's frustrating when you're building a defense around big hitters. Now, if the KO roll hits and you make contact during the catch, the ball is coming out. Period. EA did clarify that you might still see the ability light up on break-on-ball animations without a fumble—that's by design since the ability can trigger on the break, but the knockout still needs a successful roll.It's great to see the Bears getting some love in recent updates. Caleb Williams finally got up to an 80 overall. However, he did have an up-and-down game against the Green Bay Packers that culminated in an interception on the Bears' final play. Most Bears fans know, we have to take baby steps.have been a step in the right direction, and these smaller patches show EA is listening—at least on the gameplay side.I've had a strong season of gameplay in Madden this year. I've been pleased with the franchise mode improvements and I'm hopeful we continue moving in that direction. As we head into Week 15 of the real NFL season, it'll be interesting to see how many more updates we receive–beyond the player ratings adjustments.
