CLEVELAND, Ohio - An Amazon delivery truck unsuspectingly rolls over a low spot on the roadway. It’s connected to a growing sinkhole on West 114h Street in the Belmont Park community of Cleveland.
The problem is getting worse and it’s dangerous for area children says Julio. The sinkhole, literally, is right in front of his house.
“Once the rain hits it I can see the yard start to sink down. It’s dangerous. It’s time it gets fixed,” Julio said.
“There are kids that play around this area. It’s only getting worse as time goes by. ” A close look reveals broken pipes and caving in and even the grass is sagging from the erosion on that has already taken place.
“Has the city done anything except put barrels up? Absolutely not,” he said.
“Like I said, it’s been over a year and no one has ever come back to do anything about it. ” 19 News called Cleveland City Hall. The streets department sent an inspector out. He put the site on a repair list for next Tuesday.
This is what Julio says about the promise to come repair the sinkhole that’s been there was over a year.
“You feel better about that? Ah, it’s what they say,” he said.
