The Cleveland Division of Police Second District received a call for a pedestrian struck Friday evening.
The call came in at approximately 11:35 p.m. reported on W 14th Street, and when officers arrived they confirmed a man had been transported to the hospital by EMS .
The initial investigation reveals that the vehicle was traveling southbound on W 14th Street, when the pedestrian stepped out into the street between two parked vehicles. The pedestrian walked in the direct path of the vehicle, and the driver appeared to not have an opportunity to stop and struck the man. Police said at this point, speed is not considered to be a factor and the driver was not impaired by drugs or alcohol.
The Cleveland Police Accident Investigation Unit will continue the investigation, police said.
