I can't see it myself. Hammers midfielder Mateus Fernandes said his side lacked fight in last weekend's defeat by Newcastle, which is really damning, and they have lost form at the worst possible time.
In contrast, Leeds are well organised and playing with so much confidence. I am a big fan of their manager Daniel Farke and I don't see him losing this.
There will be loads of drama and probably loads of chances at both ends too, but I am going for a draw which would send West Ham down to the Championship for the first time since 2011-12.14:08'There is a misconception around London Stadium atmosphere'By Harry BamforthRiath Al-Samarrai at London Stadium: In place at West Ham. A slight misconception exists around this stadium and its atmosphere – one of the loudest noises I’ve heard at a sporting event was here.
Granted, it was the 2017 World Athletics Championship and there wasn’t a ball in sight, but we can’t blame the acoustics of the venue. I’d expect a hell of a sound by kick-off today. Based on the scenes outside, I’d say it’s a safe bet. 14:03Tottenham fans bring the atmosphereBy Harry BamforthThe Spurs fans are doing their part.
They know that this is the club's biggest match in decades as they face the prospect of their first relegation since 1977, and they are making sure to pump up their players as much as they can. There was one hell of a noise as the team bus rolled in earlier, with chants popping off, flare smoke filling the cloudless sky, and fans filling the streets outside the stadium.
I expect one hell of an atmosphere inside the ground today. 13:58Salah and Robertson START farewell gameBy Harry BamforthSo many goodbyes today, my word. The amount of tears that are going to be rolling down faces inside Anfield later will be enough to fill up a swimming pool. It is going to be such an emotional day for Liverpool fans. They are seeing two greats leave the club after one of the most successful periods in Liverpool's history.
Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson both arrived at Anfield nine years ago at the start of Jurgen Klopp's dynasty at the club, and now leave at the same time, having won two Premier Leagues, a Champions League, and multiple other major trophies. Arne Slot has decided to start the pair of them for their farewell - despite Salah's words against him last week - in what is a mammoth match for the Reds.
Can they deliver one last time? 13:54West Ham and Leeds Team NewsBy Harry BamforthTHREE changes from Nuno Espirito Santo. The West Ham boss brings in strikers Taty Castellanos and Pablo Felipe, while Kyle-Walker Peters also returns.
Meanwhile, Pascal Struijk is fit enough to start for Leeds. 13:53Tottenham and Everton Team News By Harry BamforthNot many changes from either side. Just the one from each in this monstrous game, with Djed Spence coming in for Tottenham despite his broken jaw, and Thierno Barry coming in for Everton. What a MASSIVE match in north London. 13:51Guardiola: 'It's time'By Harry BamforthPep Guardiola, Manchester City manager, speaking on Friday: It’s the time.
I didn’t wake up one day and say now is the time to leave. It’s a process that I felt for a while. The Club respect me unbelievably for the decision, they have to of course be ready and I felt it. This job is every few days for many years, Selhurst Park, Anfield, Madrid, Madrid, FA Cup.
Now I have to live my life and see what happens. And 10 years is a lot, lot of time and I think the Club needs a new manager and new energy with these incredible players that we have now, they’ll start to write another chapter. I feel I will not have the energy that is required for every three days fighting for titles and being in front of the players. I feel I would not have it.
The reason is the time, it’s 10 years. It’s not because I don’t have ambition or I don’t want to try again. Okay Pep, after 10 years and it’s really good for everyone. I think it’s good to shake and move with new faces.
If I didn’t believe that and if they didn’t sack me, I would stay here. But it’s a perfect moment and perfect time, much better than last season for example. Don’t take it for granted, this season has been exceptional, fighting against Arsenal until the last moment and winning two competitions. Fight every game like the team do, it’s been really good. 13:46Pep's final farewellBy Harry BamforthAt one point I thought this day would never come.
Pep Guardiola is set to take charge of his final game at Manchester City, after a long, historic, trophy-laden 10 years at the Etihad. Guardiola built one of the greatest dynasties we will ever see in this competition, winning the title in six of his nine seasons in English football, and racking up 20 major trophies in total. He also captured the Champions League trophy in a historic 2022-23 campaign in which he guided City to the treble.
The Spaniard may not be leaving with another Premier League trophy in his hands, but he does leave the top flight as one of, if not the greatest, to ever do it. It's going to be a very emotional day on the blue half of Manchester. 13:42'Forest can take heart from what Bournemouth have achieved'By Harry BamforthTom Collomosse at the City Ground: Forest can take heart from what Bournemouth have achieved this season, and it will give them optimism for the future.
Forest’s form has dipped a great deal from last season to this but they’ve also had Europa League campaign to manage. With no Europe to think about next season, they’ll be targeting at least a top-half finish. 13:37What Aston Villa's Europa League triumph means in the race for European football By Harry BamforthI told you an explainer was coming.
After Aston Villa triumphed in the Europa League on Wednesday, it meant that the dynamic of the battle for Europe changed... rather dramatically. Unai Emery's side have already qualified for Europe's premier competition organically via the league, after taking Liverpool to the cleaners five days prior to their historic victory at the Tupras Stadium. Villa currently sit fourth and are three points better off than Liverpool going into the final day on Sunday.
However, their goal difference is four goals worse than the Reds', which means they could still feasibly finish fifth in the table. If they lose to Manchester City at the Etihad in their last game, and Arne Slot's side get past European-chasing Brentford, then the team that finishes sixth in the Premier League will qualify for the Champions League.
This would mean that Bournemouth, who are currently sixth place and three points behind Liverpool, or Brighton, who are a further three points back behind the Cherries, could make their bow in club football's most prestigious competition, depending on results. If Villa lost, Liverpool won, and Bournemouth beat Nottingham Forest on the final day, then the south coast side will be hearing the Champions League anthem at the Vitality Stadium next season.
But in the same scenario, should they lose to Forest and Brighton turn over Manchester United, then it would be the Seagulls that take sixth spot and a place among Europe's elite. And that's just the Champions League places...
To find out more about how Europe could be decided, read below: What Villa's Europa League win means for European football raceBy dismantling Freiburg 3-0 in Istanbul on Wednesday night, Villa have potentially opened the door to the possibility of a sixth Premier League side qualifying for the Champions League. 13:32Battle for EuropeBy Harry BamforthNow this is going to take some explaining. The battle for Europe is still raging on, and it is far from being decided who finishes where.
All we know is that Aaton Villa has secured Champions League football, but even their result against Manchester City will have huge implications on everybody else around them. Liverpool, Bournemouth, and Brighton are still scrapping for that final Champions League spot, but if Villa lose and the Reds win, well, there may even be space for two of the teams. Brentford and Chelsea are still scrapping over both Europa League and Conference League positions, too.
Oh yeah, and Sunderland could still get Europe, too. I know, crazy. But being honest, they need a lot, and I mean A LOT to go their way. Don't worry, I know it's all confusing, so the next post will be the explainer on it all. 13:27The trophy has arrivedBy Harry BamforthWow.
Just look at that trophy, it's just gorgeous. There truly is nothing better than seeing the Premier League shining in the glorious sunshine; it's just so pretty. It has arrived at Selhurst Park and is on display ahead of Arsenal's final day clash with Crystal Palace. In less than four hours, Martin Odegaard will be lifting it. Key UpdatesTOP STORIES
