Prosecutors claimed Stone and Arnold were in a relationship, were living together, and that Stone had recently discovered she may be pregnant with Arnold's child. During this time, Arnold was also reportedly romantically involved with 25-year-old Chelsea Shipp. Upon learning that Stone was pregnant, both Arnold and Shipp saw it as a threat to Arnold's reputation. " were seen together, they were talking about what they were going to do," Prosecutor Jimmy Hamm said in his opening statement. "They were smoking meth that entire weekend to build up the courage to kill that girl." Arnold told police that at one point while the pair were using meth, he left the room that Stone was sleeping in only to return to find Shipp holding a gun to the teenager's head. He claimed Shipp pulled the trigger, instantly killing the teen. Arnold allegedly said he covered the victim's head with a bag because he did not want to look at her.Shipp accepted a plea agreement and was sentenced to 40 years in prison.
