But that didn’t deter them from taking care of business in a 42-28 win over Austintown Fitch on Friday night in a Division II, Region 5 semifinal.
The first four scores came on the ground, as running back Lucas Weaver scored from 44 yards and running back Carlos Smith scored from 32 yards out before quarterback Keller Moten took it in from 1 yard and then 16 yards. “That’s just a dude being a dude,” Moten said. “We got the coverage we wanted, and Coach Alexander looks to me, I look and I give him a nod and that’s really just one on one, our guy is better than yours.”
Fitch tried to put a scare into the Warriors in the second half, as the Falcons scored on the opening possession and then forced a punt for the first time. But after Fitch got to the Walsh 21 on the ensuing possession, the Warriors stood strong on defense and forced three straight negative plays to make Fitch punt.
