Springboro ended Walsh jesuit's undefeated season in penalty kicks to with the school's first ever state championship in any sport.COLUMBUS, Ohio — Walsh Jesuit‘s undefeated season came to an end Saturday night at Historic Crew Stadium as the Springboro Panthers claimed the school’s first ever state championship in any sport.
Before Saturday night 2016 was the only other time Springboro made the state semifinal. The Panthers advanced to the state championship that year but fell 2-0 to the Walsh Jesuit. “You saw it from the beginning until the end. We had players who were just, so, you know, excited about being here and excited for their teammates,” Warriors head coach Javier Iriart said.
Eventually the Panthers were able to get down to the Warriors end of the field and take some chances of their own.Hannah Pachan made the first kick for the Warriors and Tessa Blain made it 1-1 for the Panthers.
