The win for Walsh sets up a regional semifinal date with No. 4 Austintown Fitch, which will be at a neutral location on Friday, Nov. 15. The adjustment at halftime for the defense was to focus on the pass more than the run, a complete flip of what the Warriors entered the game intending to do. Hudson refused to go away, however, and after the teams traded punts, the Explorers drive down the field and scored on a 13-yard touchdown pass from Nathan Judy to Nathaniel Coates.On the ensuing Walsh possession, it looked like Hudson might have gotten the break it needed when Moten fumbled at the Walsh 35 on third-and-2, but the Warriors recovered the ball with enough yardage for a first down and then were aided by an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on Hudson.
But Walsh showed why it is undefeated on the next drive, as the Warriors marched 74 yards in eight plays and took 5:13 off the clock, finishing the drive with a 3-yard touchdown run by Lucas Weaver, his second of the game, to give Walsh a 35-21 lead with 5:46 left.
