On Wednesday at 8:39 p.m. an updated winter storm watch was issued by the National Weather Service valid from Thursday 4 p.m. until Friday 4 p.m. for Northern Wayne and Southern Wayne as well as Bradford, Susquehanna, Wyoming, Lackawanna, Luzerne and Pike counties.

The weather service adds to expect, "Heavy wet snow possible. Total snow accumulation of 7 inches or more possible in the higher elevations and up to 4 inches in lower elevations."

"The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes," adds the weather service. "Monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation. Persons should consider delaying all travel. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution.
