On Wednesday at 2:24 a.m. a winter storm watch was issued by the National Weather Service valid from Thursday 4 p.m. until Friday 4 p.m. for Carbon and Monroe counties.
The weather service adds to expect, "Heavy wet snow possible. Total snow accumulations 4 to 8 inches possible, with the highest accumulations at and above 1500 feet in northern Carbon and northwestern Monroe counties. Lower elevations may receive significantly less."
"The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes," states the weather service. "Monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation. Do not touch downed lines and report any power outages to your electric company.
