The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch at 11:39 a.m. on Wednesday valid from Thursday 4 p.m. until Friday 4 p.m. for Northern Lycoming and Potter County.
"Heavy wet snow possible. Total snow accumulations 6 inches or more possible at and above 1500 feet elevation," can be anticipated according to the weather service. "The heavy snow is most likely at elevations above 1500 feet. Lower elevations and valley locations will likely receive significantly less snow."
"The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes," comments the weather service.
