This will be the first time a British monarch has visited the U.S. since Queen Elizabeth's trip in 2007.
“Melania and I are pleased to announce that Their Majesties, the King and Queen of the United Kingdom, will visit the United States for a Historic State Visit from April 27-30th, which will include a beautiful Banquet Dinner at the White House on the evening of April 28th,” TrumpThis will be the first visit from the British monarch since Charles’s mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II, visited the U.
S. in 2007 while President George W. Bush was in office. Charles is expected to deliver an address to Congress during the stateside visit, although exact details of the itinerary have not yet been announced. He will also visit Bermuda, without the queen, after visiting the U.S., Buckingham Palace announced.and Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, on two separate tours, while Trump met with Charles and Prime Minister Keir Starmer during a visit to the U.K last September. It is unclear whether the Princess of Wales and Prince William will join the king and queen on their U.S. tour.“This momentous occasion will be even more special this year, as we commemorate the 250th Anniversary of our Great Country. I look forward to spending time with the King, whom I greatly respect. It will be TERRIFIC!” Trump said. Yet, Trump’s post comes after he blasted the U.K. for not aiding the U.S. in securing the Strait of Hormuz amid the Iran war.“All of those countries that can’t get jet fuel because of the Strait of Hormuz, like the United Kingdom, which refused to get involved in the decapitation of Iran, I have a suggestion for you: Number 1, buy from the U.S., we have plenty, and Number 2, build up some delayed courage, go to the Strait, and just TAKE IT,” Trump “You’ll have to start learning how to fight for yourself, the U.S.A. won’t be there to help you anymore, just like you weren’t there for us. Iran has been, essentially, decimated. The hard part is done. Go get your own oil!” he added.
