Residents who are working to rebuild their homes in Pacific Palisades are being asked to remove their storage containers from the street or be charged.
As thousands of people continue working to rebuild after the Palisades Fire, residents are now facing a new challenge. Many residents who are waiting for their homes to be rebuilt rented out storage containers to hold their belongings and placed them outside their homes.
But now, homeowners were notified via an online post that they have 48 hours to remove them. If they don’t the city of Los Angeles will tow them and the homeowners will be charged. Some residents say these storage containers are needed as families store their furniture or building materials inside. But one resident tells NBC4 that others in the community want them gone because they are causing traffic, and congested roads at a time when so many streets here are already filled with construction crews. LA Mayor Karen Bass’ office tells NBC4 that towing the storage containers and charging families for it was not a directive from her office.
