Mike McCarthy’s coaching staff in Pittsburgh is taking shape.
Graham, who takes over for Teryl Austin, had spent the last four seasons on the Raiders’ staff in the same position, working under three different head coaching regimes in Las Vegas. ESPN reported that Commanders assistant Jason Simmons is expected to play a role in the defensive coaching in Pittsburgh. The Raiders, a team that landed the No. 1 pick in April’s draft, still ranked 14th in the NFL in yards allowed per game under Graham’s coaching. That was significantly better than the Steeles, who ranked 26th in the same category in 2025.
