Roshawn Adkins Jr., 18, of the South Side, is charged with murder in the shooting death Monday of 15-year-old Lovely Kendricks at Franklin Park.
Roshawn Adkins Jr., 18, has been charged in an arrest warrant with murder, Columbus police Cmdr. Mark Denner said.
Adkins was not in custody as of mid-afternoon Wednesday and was being urged to turn himself in to police. Court records said Adkins fired at least one gunshot during a fight that occurred around 3:20 p.m. Monday at the Near East Side park.15-year-old girl dies after fight leads to another shooting in a Columbus park
Lovely Kendricks, 15, was struck by the gunfire and died around 9:35 p.m. Monday at Nationwide Children's Hospital. Kendricks was a student at East High School, located on the other side of East Broad Street from the park where the shooting took place.Police previously said the shooting occurred after a fight at the park among a group of girls. It is not known if Adkins knew Kendricks or what his involvement in the fight may have been.
