Tucson police arrested two men suspected of being involved in an August shooting that killed 38-year-old Elmer Tarazon in Joaquin Murrieta Park.

Police had found Tarazon with gunshot wounds on the west side of the park before he was transported to a hospital where he died. Tucson police obtained arrest warrants on Sept. 29 for 30-year-old Armando Ruiz-Valencia and 39-year-old Sergio Guillermo Urquidez. Police did not indicate what led them to Urquidez and Ruiz-Valencia, citing the ongoing investigation.

Police arrested Ruiz-Valencia on Oct. 3 in Nogales while officers arrest Urquidez the following day in Tucson. Both were booked into the Pima County Jail on one count of first-degree murder. Tucson police are still pursuing other leads and ask anyone with information about the shooting to call 88-CRIME to share the information anonymously.
