A freshman girl at South Oak Cliff High School was shot at a park across from the campus, prompting an emergency response from Dallas police on Monday, Sept. 9.
A shooting investigation is underway after a female ninth-grade student at South Oak Cliff High School was wounded by gunfire near the campus Monday afternoon.
Dallas ISD confirmed that the young victim is expected to survive and recover from her injuries. Authorities said they believe the high schooler was not an intended target of the shooting.Sign up for NBC DFW's News Headlines newsletter.
