Multiple sources tell FOX 4 an officer who was shot Thursday night in Oak Cliff has died. The two other injured officers remain in the hospital.
A Dallas police officer was shot and killed in Oak Cliff on Thursday night. Two other officers were hurt, one critically.The Dallas Police Department said they got a call around 10 p.m. about an officer in distress near the Oak Cliff Community Center on Ledbetter Road near Marsalis Avenue.They found an officer in his marked patrol vehicle who had been shot.Responding officers then exchanged gunfire with a suspect and two officers were shot at that scene.
The chase reached high speeds and stretched all the way from Dallas to Lewisville. Surrounding agencies were called in to help, sources told FOX 4.TxDOT cameras captured the chase as it moved along Loop 12, headed north alongside the west side of Dallas, eventually making its way onto I-35E. The chase ended in Lewisville, where the suspect was eventually killed."The preliminary investigation is showing that when that suspect exited the vehicle, he had a long gun.
