late Sunday evening lifted Tier 1 vehicle restrictions in place since early this morning on major roadways in the southcentral Pennsylvania region.Tier 1 commercial vehicle restrictions have been lifted on the following roads:PennDOT is urging motorists to avoid unnecessary travel but those who must head out will see speeds reduced to 45 mph on the following highways:Route 15 from the Maryland state line to Route 581.
On roadways with speed restrictions, commercial vehicles not affected by restrictions on these or other roadways must move to the right lane.Tractors towing unloaded or lightly loaded enclosed trailers, open trailers or tank trailersEnclosed unloaded or lightly loaded cargo delivery trucks/box trucks that meet the definition of a commercial motor vehicleexcept
loaded single trailers with chains or approved Alternate Traction Devices. Additionally, all school buses, commercial buses, motor coaches, motorcycles, RVs/motorhomes and passenger vehicles towing trailers are not permitted on affected roadways while restrictions are in place.As much as 8 inches fell across central Pennsylvania, and below-normal temperatures throughout the week will limit any melting. Winds could cause some drifting over the next few days..
