A Wednesday morning lockdown during repairs has since been lifted.
The prison ran on an emergency generator for about three hours Wednesday morning while an outside electrical contractor repaired a damaged power line that caused outages on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Prison staff prepared for Wednesday’s repairs by “planning meals, medical treatment and other needs,” the county said in a Facebook post. A power line was damaged Friday while a private subcontractor was digging for an unrelated project on the 500 block of Mall Road in Swatara Township, knocking out power at the prison and other county buildings, officials said.
