Dozens of No-Kings rallies took place across our area Saturday, including in Rochester, Marion, Geneseo, and Hornell."There are a lot of us that really are not happy with our Constitution not being followed," Heather said. "I think it's just important to show people that there are a lot of people that are not happy with the way things are going, and if you're not happy with the way things are going, then you stand up, and you protest," said Dave.Over at the Genesee Gateway Park in Rochester, thousands of people came out to show their support for the nationwide movement.Leona Shramm said, "They need to know the people of America, the citizens of the United States, have had it. We're done." "I think there's strength in numbers and that we're giving each other support and camaraderie," Pam Ketchum said. "It's not just an individual thing; the feeling of upset that there's a whole bunch of people that are really upset and concerned." Griffin Brown said, "We don't support people who think it's okay to, you know, just take our rights away and as well harm people who are helping our economy."The crowd stretched across the park and down Mt. Hope Avenue, holding hundreds of homemade signs demanding change in government. Erik Prouty said, "Number one, get out of the wars. We don't need to be in any, especially starting a war, and I think we need to just stop this autocracy."The Irony isn't lost on us. If we truly lived under a king, this protest wouldn't be allowed.
