Bruce Springsteen, Jane Fonda and Maggie Rogers are among the high-profile figures expected at the protest.
Millions of protestors are expected to take to the streets in over 3,300 events across the nation as part of the “No Kings” protests against the Trump administration. The movement has previously organized mass rallies opposing the White House's policies, including its immigration crackdown and what organizers describe as executive overreach.
The organizers say on their website that"No Kings" events are committed to nonviolent action. The movement has identified St. Paul as the focal point for the protests. The mass demonstration comes after two Minneapolis residents, Renee Good and Alex Pretti, were fatally shot by federal immigration officers in January. Organizers have said they expect about 100,000 people at the Minnesota Capitol, which could make it one of the largest protests in the state’s history. In late-January, following the shootings of Pretti and Good, Springsteen wrote and released a song in"response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis," he said on his website. He will perform the song,"Streets of Minneapolis," at the demonstration on Saturday. The event will start with three marches at 12 p.m. that will then converge at the Capitol at 2 p.m. Other events include creating a human chain or line dancing. Independent SenatorWhite House spokesperson Abigail Jackson told Fox News Digital on Saturday,"The only people who care about these Trump Derangement Therapy Sessions are the reporters who are paid to cover them.", made up of 1,800 events, coinciding with the military parade in Washington, D.C. marking the Army's 250th anniversary—which was also the day of Trump's 79th birthday. On October 18, theSenator Bernie Sanders, a Vermont independent, said in a March 27 X post: “Tomorrow, millions of Americans will be joining No Kings rallies. We will be saying NO to authoritarianism. NO to oligarchy. NO to endless wars. NO to the continued attacks against the working class. I look forward to seeing you in St. Paul, MN.”:"The No Kings movement is of great import right now. When you have the opportunity to sing something where the timing is essential and if you have something powerful to sing, it elevates the moment, it elevates your job to another level. And I’m always in search of that.""These Hate America Rallies are where the far-left’s most violent, deranged fantasies get a microphone.":"Protesting against kings is in our DNA as a people. The foundational American idea is that here the people are sovereign. So, too, is the idea that protesting against unconstitutional abuses of power is patriotic. I will be doing my patriotic duty today at my local No Kings protest. Hope you will too."View Editorial & AI Guidelines
