Rain will continue through early morning in Alabama, with a widespread soaking likely south of Montgomery. Temperatures will be warm enough for only liquid precipitation. Once the rain exits, a cool, dry work week will unfold with afternoon highs in the low and mid 50s. A quick shot of rain with possible thunder is expected Friday night into Saturday. Long range data suggest additional shots of cold air are likely the last two weeks of January, potentially bringing very cold temperatures and/or some wintry weather to the Southeast.
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Rain has overspread the state and will continue through early this morning. With a widespread soaking likely south of Montgomery. From Montgomery northward, the rain will be lighter and spottier. It will be warm enough for only liquid precipitation.
Once the rain exits, a cool, dry work week then unfolds. With afternoon highs in the low and mid 50s, overnight lows in the upper 20s and lower 30s and no appreciable rain chance for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and most of Friday. Our next system takes aim at the state Friday night into Saturday, bringing a quick shot of rain.
