First Alert: Strong to Severe storms likely overnight
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Widespread severe weather looks likely across Central and South Alabama late Sunday night into early Monday morning. The main threats are damaging winds and tornadoes. The Storm Prediction Center continues an Enhanced to Slight Risk for the region.
In simple terms, the chance of severe weather is high enough that everyone should have a plan.A lot like yesterday, today is going to be a nice day. Temperatures will rise into the upper 70s and lower 80s for your afternoon highs. Wind is going to be a big talking point this afternoon as the National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory starting at 1 pm and continuing until tomorrow morning. Winds 10- 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph at times.widespread damaging straight-line windsTornadoes are also a possibility, with a quick spin up taking place within the line. But we’re also looking at a supercell out ahead of the front that could create a possible tornado... especially near and south of the I-85 corridor.
