A line of severe storms is expected to impact the Gulf Coast late Sunday night through early Monday morning. The timing could be as early as midnight, with the main threat continuing through mid-morning Monday.as we monitor this system closely. We are included in a level 2 Slight Risk for severe weather. A Level 3 Enhanced Risk for severe weather has been issued for areas to our north and west, meaning conditions will be favorable for strong to severe storms. All severe weather threats are possible, including damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes. Saturday will be beautiful, with plenty of sunshine and highs reaching the mid to upper 70s — a great day to be outside. Isolated showers will return Sunday as clouds increase, signaling the approach of the severe weather system expected that evening.The severe weather won’t be the only concern. A significant cold snap will move in behind the front, bringing a dramatic temperature drop early next week. Daytime highs on Monday and Tuesday will only reach the 50s. More importantly, temperatures are expected to drop near freezing Monday night and Tuesday night. This could bring a late-season frost and freeze event to the area.
