TUESDAY:Good morning, Central Ohio! More sunshine is on tap for today with breezy conditions. The sun and strong southwesterly winds will help temperatures soar into the upper 70s. By the evening, a low-pressure system dives into the Great Lakes to spark rain showers and thunderstorms.
A few storms could become strong to severe, especially for areas east of Columbus. Strong winds will be the main threat; however, large hail and a brief tornado cannot be ruled out, especially in East Ohio. The line of storms races out of Ohio by the overnight hours. Overnight temperatures will be mild in the mid-50s. Warm conditions persist into Monday with highs in the mid-70s and mostly sunny skies. Soak up the sunshine as our next weather maker marches into the Plains.
A warm front lifts into the area on Tuesday with rain showers and thunderstorms possible. More rain showers and thunderstorms are likely by Wednesday as the cold front swings into the Midwest. Another cold front slides in by the end of the week with rain showers possible on Friday. Temperatures will trend cooler with highs in the upper 50s by Saturday.
