The threat of severe weather is over for the night. Activity will re-fire tomorrow night, but most of Easter is dry and in the 60s.
COLUMBUS, Ohio —Thunderstorms erupted across north central Ohio this afternoon with numerous severe thunderstorm warnings and a tornado warning for Cambridge.
Reports of quarter sized hail followed one storm that traveled from Marion to Mt. Gilead, to Mt. Vernon to Coshocton, to Cambridge. The severe thunderstorm watch has been cancelled for central Ohio. We start Easter on Sunday with mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures will be comfortable for the afternoon Easter egg hunts in the low 60s. By the evening, rain and thunderstorms develop with a few strong storms possible. The Storm Prediction Center has a Marginal Risk over Central Ohio on Sunday. Storms will be capable of producing hail and gusty winds.
Rain showers and thunderstorms continue into Monday as the low-pressure system tracks through the Plains. It remains wet and stormy into Tuesday as the low tracks through the Midwest. A low-end risk for severe weather is possible for Monday and Tuesday with the main threat being hail and gusty winds.
Rain lingers into Wednesday and Thursday as the low lifts into the Great Lakes region. Temperatures will trend cooler in the upper 40s. Depending on temperatures, some snow may try to mix in during the morning hours. Rainfall amounts will range from 1-3” across the area from these waves of rain showers and thunderstorms.
