While the path of totality covers much of northern Ohio, areas of central Ohio may be able to catch the brief moments of total darkness.
Some spectators feared that cloud cover would block their view of the total solar eclipse. Here's what the current forecast models show.
Viewers in the path wearing eclipse glasses will see the moon begin to slowly cover the sun until it is completely blocked, a period of darkness called “totality" during which temperatures drop and the sun's corona will be visible. Earlier forecast models brought some worry about whether spectators would see the eclipse because of cloudy skies. Current models show that it shouldn’t be a concern.
The skies were cloudy this morning but began to break up by 10 a.m. The solar eclipse starts shortly after 2 p.m. and skies will be partly cloudy by then. There could be some high thin clouds bringing a hazy view of totality. Some of us could get lucky and see clear skies — though it is a smaller chance.Cloud cover is also threatening to spoil the view for millions of spectators in the U.S., Mexico and Canada anticipating the total solar eclipse.was expected at the tail end of the eclipse in Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine, as well as New Brunswick and Newfoundland in Canada.Watch 10TV at 2 p.m.
