Authorities uncovered a sophisticated burglary ring targeting upscale residences, including those of high-profile athletes. Three men, Jordan Francisco Quiroga Sanchez, Bastian Alejandro Orellana Morales, and Sergio Andres Ortega Cabello, have been indicted in Ohio on federal charges of transporting stolen goods interstate and falsifying records in a federal investigation.
The alleged break-in occurred at the home of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow on December 9th while he was playing in Dallas. Investigators discovered evidence linking the suspects to Burrow's home, including photos of stolen items and images of the three men posing with another individual. Burrow confirmed the burglary, expressing that his privacy had been violated. The stolen goods, valued at over $300,000, included luggage, glasses, wristwatches, and jewelry. A trail camera captured a suspect carrying luggage near the property, and license plate readers identified a suspicious vehicle, a 2024 Volkswagen Atlas SUV, later found abandoned in Florida. The investigation led authorities to a fourth suspect facing state charges. All four were found to be in the country illegally. In a separate development, two men, Dimitriy Nezhinskiy and Juan Villar, were arrested in New York and charged with acting as 'fences' in the operation. Prosecutors allege that Nezhinskiy and Villar operated a pawn shop in Manhattan and stored stolen items in New Jersey storage units. The estimated value of the recovered stolen goods is $1.5 million, with the potential to reach $5 million. Nezhinskiy's attorney maintains that the case is just beginning and they intend to fight the charges. This investigation represents a significant crackdown on transnational theft rings targeting high-value assets
