Four Chilean men have been charged in a nationwide investigation involving burglaries targeting the homes of wealthy individuals, including professional athletes. The suspects were apprehended in Ohio after being linked to a December break-in at the residence of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.

Four Chilean men have been charged in an investigation into a series of nationwide burglaries targeting the homes of wealthy individuals, including some celebrities and professional athletes. The suspects, Bastian Alejandro Morales, 23; Sergio Andres Cabello, 38; Jordan Francisco Sanchez, 22; and Alejandro Esteban Huaiquil-Chavez, 24, were apprehended in Ohio after being linked to a December 9th break-in at the residence of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow .

While the indictment doesn't explicitly name Burrow as a victim, authorities allege that a Bengals hat stolen during the December burglary was found in a Chevrolet SUV used by the suspects. The four men were indicted on charges of corrupt activity, participation in a criminal gang, possessing burglary tools, obstructing investigators, and presenting fake identification to police. Investigators claim that an LSU football shirt, also believed to have been taken in the December burglary, was discovered in the same SUV during a traffic stop by the Ohio State Highway Patrol on January 10th. The suspects' vehicle was also reportedly traced to the vicinity of Burrow's home in Anderson Township on the date of the alleged burglary. Notably, Burrow was away at the time, playing in his team's game against the Dallas Cowboys in Arlington, Texas.Authorities have been investigating a string of burglaries targeting high-profile individuals, including athletes like Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, Bobby Portis Jr. of the Milwaukee Bucks, Luka Dončić of the Dallas Mavericks, and Dak Prescott's fiancée. The Ohio indictment is part of a larger investigation by the Southwest Ohio Burglary Task Force, established by Attorney General Dave Yost to address these nationwide break-ins. The suspects, initially detained for being in the country illegally, are currently held without bail. They have pleaded not guilty to the initial charges
