Police say the vehicle was advertised on Facebook Marketplace. On Sept. 15, 2025, the victim purchased the vehicle with cash after meeting the seller in the 10100 block of Barden Road. Austin police are looking for a suspect involved in a fraud case concerning the sale of a vehicle with a rolled-back odometer and a tampered title. The seller claimed to be the person listed on the vehicle title and provided a title that appeared ready for transfer. However, the victim soon encountered mechanical issues and discovered the odometer had been altered and the mileage on the title falsified.BE THE FIRST TO COMMENT Anyone with information is urged to contact Austin Police at 512-974-TIPS.
