The Joker card and Chishiya in Alice in Borderland
Alice in Borderland season 2 ended with an ominous reveal of a Joker card in the real world, raising the question of what this means for the upcoming season 3. When Alice in Borderland season 2 was released, a third season had yet to be announced by Netflix. Given that the end of season 2 was very similar to that of Haro Aso’s manga, many assumed that there would not be a third season of the Netflix live-action show.
Arisu, just like Usagi and most of the main Alice in Borderland characters, chooses to leave the Borderland. That is when Arisu encounters the Joker, a shadowy figure who serves as Alice in Borderland’s equivalent of Charon, the ferryman of the dead in Greek mythology. The Joker in the Alice in Borderland manga was therefore responsible for taking those who chose not to stay in the Borderland back to the real world.

The shadowy Joker figure from the manga did not even appear in Netflix's Alice in Borderland.

Unlike the manga, which had a very definitive ending, Netflix’s Alice in Borderland chose to give season 2 an opening ending.
What Could The Joker Card Game Be In Alice In Borderland Season 3? The Joker Could Be The Show's Most Difficult Game Yet Close Given how every card game in Alice in Borderland was tied to a playing card, it is only natural to assume that the Joker card also represents a game. However, this will most certainly not be a traditional game. Firstly, as far as we know it, Arisu woke up in the real world and is no longer in the Borderland.
