The original Joker film created at least some level of a divide between critics and fans, with a 68% critic score compared to a higher 89% audience score. These audience scores are some of the lowest in DC history. Think the original Suicide Squad is lower? Wrong, 56%. Black Adam? Wrong, 88%. Green Lantern? Nope, 45%. You have to go all the way back to the likes of ancient, awful DC content like Steel, Batman and Robin and Catwoman to find lower scores.This is at the very least a critical disaster for DC, though whether that turns into a financial disaster remains to be seen.
