A pivotal scene in the Joker movie may appear to happen without any significant thought, but Arthur Fleck's murdering Murray Franklin did have a clear motive. The 2019 Joker film became a huge hit and managed to set a new record for biggest box office for an R-rated movie. This was in part due to the popular IP that the movie was attached to, but even more so, the narrative that surrounded the film made it worth watching for people in various brackets.
