The Montgomery County Clerk provided CBS Austin with Mosser's booking photo from August 2020 when he was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated. Dispatchers received the initial call at approximately 3:47 p.
m. on March 25 reporting a man, later identified as 25-year-old Kobe Lee Mosser, actively shooting at vehicles. While officers were on the way, dispatchers reported the suspect had briefly re-entered his vehicle before exiting and resuming fire. They said they could hear gunshots in the background, according to the affidavit. One victim told officers she was pulling into the parking lot heading eastbound when she observed Mosser standing outside his truck, using his driver's side door as a shield, firing a "big/long gun" at her vehicle multiple times. She said she ducked for cover and attempted to get his license plate, the affidavit says. A second vehicle that was struck was carrying an adult female passenger and two juveniles in the back seat. Mosser was taken into custody at approximately 3:54 p.m. after Officer James Hill conducted a felony stop of Mosser's vehicle. He reportedly found the rifle in the backseat.of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of child endangerment. Additional charges remain under evaluation, the Bastrop Police Department said. He has a prior criminal history that includes a 2020 DWI arrest in Montgomery County. Since the Bastrop Police Department did not release Mosser's most recent booking photo, CBS Austin obtained the booking photo from the Montgomery County arrest. No injuries were reported.
