The fire, burning near Sandy Creek Road in Red Rock, had expanded from 20 acres just 40 minutes earlier, according to an update from the Bastrop County Office of Emergency Management. Two residential structures and five outbuildings were threatened as of the latest update.
No evacuation orders had been issued and no injuries or structural damage had been reported. Dozers were constructing containment lines while local fire departments and state agencies engaged in structure protection.
