Crews from at least six agencies responded to a fire Monday afternoon in Monroe County.

The fire broke out around 1:50 p.m. at a single-family home on Union Street in Wheatland, according to Mike Connelie, chief of the Scottsville Fire Department.
Everybody was able to escape the home before crews arrived, Connelie said. One person was evaluated at the scene but was not hospitalized. No injuries were reported. Damage was contained to the home's attic and roof, according to Connelie. The extent of the damage is unclear at this time, but Connelie believes the home is not a total loss.A cause remains under investigation.
