The moviegoers came in two by two. Some big studio movies feel safe from the second they are announced. Noah was never one of them. Darren Aronofsky’s biblical epic was strange, intense, and way more visually ambitious than people expected from a movie based on one of the best-known stories ever told.
Now the film is heading to a new streaming home. Noah will be free to stream on Kanopy starting April 17. Released in 2014, Noah stars Russell Crowe as the title character, with Aronofsky turning the Old Testament story into a large-scale fantasy drama about faith, destruction, and survival. The movie was a major box office hit, grossing more than $350 million worldwide. The cast includes Crowe as Noah, Jennifer Connelly as Naameh, Emma Watson as Ila, Logan Lerman as Ham, Douglas Booth as Shem, Ray Winstone as Tubal-cain, and Anthony Hopkins as Methuselah.
