Since 2019, Kevin Erdmann has been one of Screen Rant's Senior Staff Writers, covering all kinds of Superhero and Star Wars media with Easter egg breakdowns, theory pieces, breaking news, and more. A huge Star Wars & MCU fan, Kevin also loves Batman (because he's Batman), but could talk for hours about why Nightwing is DC's greatest hero.

Four years later, Marvel is continuing to show the potential of one of the MCU's most wasted heroes. In the post-Endgame era and the dawn of Disney+ shows, second seasons are pretty rare to see. However, that hasn't kept fans from hoping, especially when it comes to Oscar Isaac's Moon Knight.

Although there are plenty of characters who deserve more than a single season of MCU television, Moon Knight's name is often shouted louder than most. Likewise, it's hard to understand why Marvel Studios has been dragging its feet for so long when the comics keep showing how awesome future seasons could be. Wonder Man Season 2 Is Great...But I Still Need Justice For Oscar Isaac's Moon Knight Recently, Daredevil: Born Again season 2 has just premiered on Disney+, while Loki season 2 was one of the MCU's most high-quality pieces of storytelling on the small screen. Now, Wonder Man season 2 has just received the green light from Marvel Studios, speaking to a new desire to give certain shows subsequent seasons. While that's all well and good, it arguably makes it even more frustrating that Moon Knight season 2 still hasn't happened yet, four years after the release of the first season. Oscar Isaac's performances as Marc Spector, Stephen Grant, and Jake Lockley were stellar, with the show itself having one of the MCU's more distinct tones and compelling themes, not to mention being more brutal, aligning with Moon Knight's all-too-violent methods to protect the travelers of the night on behalf of the moon god Khonshu. However, the show ended on a massive cliffhanger with Jake Lockley barely being introduced before the first season's end . Four years later, those hanging threads remain unresolved. Clearly, Moon Knight wasn’t a one-off concept and was designed to continue...so where's Moon Knight season 2? Considering his high-potential for bigger ensemble films as well, sidelining Moon Knight feels like an all-around major missed opportunity on Marvel Studios' part. Marvel Comics Continues To Prove Moon Knight's Ongoing MCU Potential If there were any doubt about Moon Knight’s long-term potential, Marvel Comics is actively proving otherwise in the comics. Case in point, Marvel's new and ongoing Marc Spector: Moon Knight series has just reintroduced Raoul Bushman, one of Moon Knight’s most important and original foes, connected to Marc Spector’s origins . It's quite possible that a second season could finally bring Marc and Bushman's classic rivalry to the forefront in the MCU. At the same time, the comics continue to establish Zodiac as an all-new arch-foe for Moon Knight. The new Marc Spector: Moon Knight #2 even sees Zodiac freeing Spector from his imprisonment at Bushman's hands, wanting to be Moon Knight's one-and-only nemesis . When it comes down to it, we literally have Moon Knight in the comics dealing with an excess of threats and dynamic foes who'd be perfect for future seasons of Moon Knight in the MCU . While there are obviously years and years of comics to pull from, the fact that even the most recent Moon Knight comics are helping establish Marc Spector's high potential is worth pointing out. The audience is more than ready, the story is unfinished in the MCU, and the opportunity for narratives beyond a single season of television is undeniable. All Marvel Studios needs to do is finally pull the trigger and make Moon Knight season 2 happen already.
