BURTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio - The Burton Fire Department was dispatched Monday morning for a hunter that was lost on land. According to the fire department, the call came in at approximately 10:29 a.m. in the LaDue Public Hunting Area located in Burton Township .
Units responded to the area of the Burton Windsor Road public hunting access near the East Branch of the Cuyahoga River, where a command post was established at Restoration Chapel, Burton Fire said. The hunter reported that he was lost in a swampy area near the river with thick tree and brush cover. Due to the swampy and thick brushy environment to the area, Burton Fire said rescue boat assets were deployed to rescue the lost hunter.
