Bloodborne's PlayStation exclusivity has disappointed fans for over a decade, causing some enthusiasts to breathe life into the game by creating an unofficial next-gen update and remaster.
It is no secret that Bloodborne is one of the greatest pieces of media of all time, and it is equally no secret that its PlayStation exclusivity remains one of gaming's biggest disappointments.
Since its launch back in 2015, Bloodborne has cemented itself as one of gaming's masterpieces, but with no official next-gen update or PC remaster, fans are forever donning their clown makeup in the hopes that Sony will make that long-awaited announcement. However, with over a decade passed and no confirmation, fans have taken it into their own hands to breathe life into the FromSoftware masterpiece.
Whether that means unofficial PC ports or, in this case, a look at what a potential Bloodborne Remastered could look like in 2026. Courtesy of Bang4BuckPC Gamer over on YouTube, we can now see a modern-day version of Bloodborne, complete with 4K, 60fps gameplay, courtesy of the Ryzen 9 9950X3D + RTX 5090 and the Shad PS4 emulator, which allows the game to be playable on PC.
It is the aforementioned unofficial PC port created by fromsoftserve that Bang4BuckPC Gamer is using here, alongside Bloodborne Mod Launcher, and with their PC settings cranked up to the max, you can clearly see what an updated Bloodborne could look like. Luckily, this result is available to be achieved by any PC user, as long as their PC is capable of handling maximum settings, as the PC port, Mod Launcher, and ShadPS4 are free to download.
For now, however, let us take a look at how different Bloodborne can look over a decade on from its original launch. Bang4BuckPC Gamer is kind enough to share their ShadPS4 settings at the start of the video just in case you want to emulate the game yourself.
However, the rest of the video consists of our beloved Hunter running around Yharnam, fighting blood-starved beasts and exploring some of gaming's most iconic locations. It is clear to see that the lighting and shadows have been vastly improved. Our Hunter seamlessly walks across lamp-lit cobbles and into its darker backstreets, and all of this is achieved whilst still maintaining the dingy feel of the original Bloodborne.
As you can imagine, fans were ready to share their thoughts on this unofficial Bloodborne remaster, and took to the comments to do so. "It looks nice, but I kind of understand why FromSoftware is not really keen on any studio to do the remaster," one user shared. "The animations and everything are tied with the 30fps system in mind that, even at 90fps, everything simply looks the same. It doesn't have the high-fps feel.
" With the unofficial PC port making it possible to play Bloodborne from start to finish, this is truly a revolutionary project that we have all been waiting for. However, there is no denying that our lives would be a lot easier if the FromSoftware hit was officially made available on PC. For now, we continue to persevere.
